For the production hall of Pilkington in Gildehaus Highbay Company has provided the lighting. Pilkington Gildehaus is, just like Pilkington Nederland, part of the NSG Group and produces glass for all sorts of purposes. The Hermitage Amsterdam, the Ziggo Dome, the Algemene Rekenkamer and the MST hospital in Enschede. Just four prestigious buildings for which Pilkington Nederland supplied the glass. But also in other business premises, government buildings, hospitals, hotels, schools, sports centres, museums and of course homes you will find glass from Pilkington.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

With our LAMBDA luminaires Pilkington will always experience enough light in the right places. By using the 444 series of LAMBDA the employees at Pilkington will always experience enough light. Due to the high light output workers will see enough and the risk of mistakes and accidents will be reduced compared to the previous light situation. The LAMBDA 444 series therefore stands for the number of LEDs on the LED plate of the luminaire; 444.<\/p>

In cooperation with Nedap the lighting on the work floor at Pilkington has been made intelligent. By means of the addition of IoT (Internet of Things) nodes, the light fittings communicate with each other wirelessly via the control box which is also hanging in the building. Because of this there is no need for wiring between the fixtures but the fixtures are switched on and off via the system.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Energy saving through daylight and motion sensors<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In addition to all the luminaires being made intelligent with an IoT node, there are also movement sensors and a daylight sensor in the production hall. With the daylight and movement sensors installed, Pilkington’s energy savings increase enormously. The daylight sensor measures the amount of light outside and translates a percentage of light output that an individual luminaire must minimally meet. Thus luminaires under a skylight have to provide less output because there is already a lot of sunlight present. This is in contrast to luminaires in dark places which have to provide more output. In this way Pilkington saves on the energy bill without having to worry about it. Furthermore, there is a movement sensor in a place where there is generally little movement.
